An appeal for Missing York chef Claudia Lawrence will appear on national digital billboards from 17 March on the 5th anniversary of her disappearance, as part of a powerful ongoing partnership between the charity Missing People, Outdoor Media Centre and production company Grand Visual.
The initiative, launched by Kate McCann in summer 2012, has issued over 340 appeals using OpenLoop technology and is a powerful medium for supporting families in their search, and helping to find missing people.
Digital billboard space represents a donation from various media partners, and JCDecaux has generously guaranteed that Claudia’s appeal will appear on their Transvision screen at Leeds Train Station from Monday 17th March, 10am for the duration of the week. This comes before a number of activities organised by Claudia’s family throughout the week.
Jo Youle, Chief Executive for the charity Missing People said:
“The billboards are such a powerful tool in searching for missing people and we hope that the digital appeal will help to find her on this sad anniversary.
“The thoughts of our staff and volunteers are with Claudia’s family at this time, which will be extremely difficult as they appeal once again for information that will bring Claudia home safely.
