Jo Youle - Chief Executive
Jo has led the charity Missing People since 2012, before that working at a senior level within the organisation for more than 10 years, starting as Head of Helplines.
In 2014, Jo received Third Sector's Rising Chief Executive Award and in 2016 led the charity to be ranked as the 18th best not for profit to work for in the annual Sunday Times list.
Jo has been a proud trustee of Brook since 2014, and Deputy Chair since January 2017. Jo was a Samaritan for 10 years, latterly a Co-Director of Central London Samaritans following a career as an artist and songwriter for Warner Music and Chrysalis. Jo is a trained mediator and an experienced public speaker and media spokesperson on the issues of vulnerable and missing young people and issues relating to the Third Sector. Jo was recognised as a Guardian Top Charity Chief Executive on social media in 2015 and 2016.
Ross Miller - Director of Fundraising and Communication
Ross leads an award winning team to raise vital funds and awareness, including helping to find vulnerable people through award winning partnerships with businesses including Royal Mail and the out-of-home advertising industry.
Ross is non-executive Director and treasurer of two charitable trusts established by one of the worlds largest private charity donors, awarding funds from the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery to inspiring education and sporting charities. Ross is a trustee of Foal Farm, an animal rescue charity in Kent.
Ross is an experienced speaker and for 2018 sits on the Advisory Board of ThirdSector magazines’ Fundraising Week.
Douglas Parkhill – Director of Finance
Douglas is former Group Company Secretary of pharmaceutical group SkyePharma PLC and former Finance Director of Vango, outdoor and camping specialists, and of Black and Edgington, then the UK's leading provider of tented structures for major events, including: the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, Henley Royal Regatta, Farnborough International Airshow, State visits and Royal Garden Parties.
Sophie Lapham - Director of Services
Sophie Lapham joined Missing People in February 2015 as Director of Services, having worked in the voluntary sector for 10 years in a range of management roles. Most recently, Sophie was Head of Service Support at Samaritans, leading the team delivering caller support, volunteering and training, and the Listener Scheme in prisons. Sophie's first role at Samaritans was project managing the awar-winning partnership between Samaritans and Network Rail to reduce railway suicide.
Sophie worked for Victim Support for a number of years including as Area Manager for South West London, responsible for services to victims and witnesses of crime across five London boroughs and seven courts, including specialist domestic violence services. Sophie has been a trustee of the charity Mosac and volunteered on a helpline when living abroad.
Susannah Drury - Director of Policy, Research and People
Susannah joined Missing People in 2013. She leads the Policy and Research Team who help missing people and their families get the support they need from UK governments, the police and other agencies and who are responsible for the charity’s services being in line with the needs of those who use them.
She also leads the People team who ensure the charity has the skilled people it needs to deliver its strategic plan, and that Missing People remains a great place to work and volunteer.
Susannah is the Vice Chair of the English Coalition for Runaway People and a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for the Study of Missing Persons at the University of Portsmouth. At Missing People, she has had a variety of roles, including Director of Services and Director of Partnerships. Susannah regularly represents the charity at national and international events and as a media spokesperson
Susannah brings 15 years’ experience of policy, research and service user participation roles in local and regional government, as well as at Nacro, the crime reduction charity, and at SHS Trust, a social inclusion charity. Most recently, she was a Scrutiny Manager for the London Assembly, leading the team supporting Assembly Members to hold the Mayor of London to account on policing and crime issues.
Karen Robinson - Director of Developments and Partnerships
Karen joined Missing People 2011 and has led the development of key partnerships with police across the UK resulting in the charity reaching more missing people and their families. Karen’s background in both the police and prison service coupled with her many years’ experience working with children who run away and go missing, children at risk of exclusion and adults with mental health and homelessness problems place her well to negotiate the charity’s important relationships with both statutory and voluntary sector partners.
Most notably, Karen has led the charity’s development of locally commissioned services, helping the Missing People reach an extra 2,000 children a year and many more children, adults and families through our new training programme for professionals. Karen has an interest in Leadership and a passion for nurturing talent within her growing team.
