Players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Hove will win a share of £3 million and help charities like Missing People when the Postcode Millions Draw comes to Hove Lawns this Saturday 29 July.

Missing People is the only charity in the UK dedicated to reuniting missing people and their families. Right now, we are is appealing for dozens of people who have been reported missing to Sussex Police, including Klodian Marku, aged 16, who went missing from Brighton in May this year. The families of all those who are missing are desperately worried and need to know everything possible is being done to find their loved ones in the hope of bringing them home safe and well.

Missing People is one of 63 charities to be supported by players, who have together raised a total of £212.8 million for good causes. Through players’ support, our 116 000 helpline can be there around the clock for the thousands of people who go missing in Sussex every year, and their families.

In addition to the 24 hour helpline, one of our local teams provides return home interviews to children and young people in Sussex, working in partnership with Sussex Police and Children’s Services, offering a safe space for them to discuss their experiences once they have returned from being missing.

Erica Thornton, Local Services and Development Manager, lives locally in Hove and manages the charity’s activities across Sussex. She will be joining the Postcode Millions event tomorrow to help celebrate with lucky winners and thank them for their vital support.

Erica says: “Our work helps prevent children in the area going missing more than once. When I leave a face to face meeting with a young person I know that, thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, our helpline will be there to support them around the clock, for free.

“It takes just 2 minutes to sign up to play People’s Postcode Lottery. In that same time someone’s loved one will go missing in the UK. We’re enormously grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Hove and beyond. They enable us to be on the end of the phone, text and email, for free and 24 hours a day, for missing people and their loved ones. We’re always so pleased when players win life-changing sums of money whilst helping us be a lifeline when someone disappears”.
